Here is what you need to have ready:

  • 4 cups all purpose flour, King Arthur, Unbleached, Organic

  • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice

  • 1/4 cup whole milk

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tsp baker’s ammonia

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • orange rind from one orange

  • Sesame seeds, 4tbsp, if desired

  • 1 egg yolk mixed with 1tbsp milk
