Greek Wonders Cooking Series: Making stuffed peppers & tomatoes ( gemista)

Join us to cook this recipe for colorful stuffed vegetables that includes heirloom tomatoes, poblano peppers, plus yellow and red peppers, one of the most loved dishes in Greek cuisine. Many variations are possible, such as ground beef/lamb in the stuffing, vegetarian options and herbs and including raisins or pine nuts. Invariably the outcome is delicious!
Here is what ingredients you need to have ready:
3 poblano peppers
2 red pepers
2 yellow pepper
4 tomatoes
1/2 cup raisins
2 cups organic basmati rice
1/4 lb organic ground beef
1/4 lb organic ground lamb
1 yellow onion
salt and pepper to taste
1 bunch of parsley
1 tsp spearmint, dry
1/3 cup olive oil
Served with yoghurt, or feta cheese or salad
Put on your favorite music on, brew a warm cup of tea, or pour yourself a glass of wine, and join us to unwind form the week. Making gemista, offers many variations and is pleasing to many tastes, so you are in for a treat!
