Revani is a popular Middle Eastern dessert known throughout Egypt, Turkey and Syria. It is made from yogurt and semolina, which, after being baked in the oven, is soaked with syrup. In Greece, the city of Veria has a long tradition of making this sweet, dating back to the period of Ottoman rule, and it continues to be particularly popular today. Every pastry shop in the city has its own secret recipe for a variation of the dessert.
